Past Few Weeks
Dining out was held at the Provo Marriot in the Grand Ballroom. I went and picked up my date at about 4:30 cause I had to be at the Marriott at 5pm so I could practice with the choir. We got there just fine we were all dressed up. My date, Cassandra had her dress on and I had my modified Mess Dress on. Which is just service dress with a white shirt on. We had to wait around for a while for the whole thing to start but it did start, late. We sung the National Anthem and then we had to do a bunch of toasts and then dinner started. During dinner there where a bunch of skits and the grog was opened. I don't know if I have talked about the grog yet, but it's this big nasty toilet bowl of the nastiest liquids that you could think of and a person usually has to drink out of it when they have done something stupid during the semester. Oh yeah, my old flight commander, Cadet Captain Baker told me I was going to get grogged because of something happened with me not asking out his friend to dining out. That wasn't the case but he had me scared about getting grogged, because I didn't want to get grogged. Well, there was one cadet who had to drink from the grog about 5 times, Risner was his name, it was mighty funny. But the best part was that our DOT (director of training) had to drink from the grog about 3 times. Once for waking up a major at 0130 and I think the other time was for the same reason, and another for, dang I forgot. But it was great because he's the guy that's been yelling at us this semester and I guess indirectly it's some type of revenge. Benard F. Fisher was there and he talked to us about how he got the Congressional Medal of Honor in Vietnam. After that the dance happened, we stayed for an hour or so and that was it.
The Thanksgiving weekend was the next week and we had no Air Force Classes so that was pretty cool. But this week has started and some how I have avoided and now was unable to avoid becoming the Squardon Commander for this week (we rotate so that every Cadet in the FTP has a chance to command a group). So yesterday I did what I could and it was pretty easy. But This morning I was doing more things and I'd like to think that I did a pretty good job for a first time. I yell pretty loud and know the commands pretty good after all, I have been hearing them all semester. Being the Commander is hard cause your much more exposed, and since you have to say and do stuff everyone hears you and if you screw up everyone knows, so it's kind of nerve racking and it's easy to get flustered. It's much easier to just be one of the drones in the group that blends in with everyone else. But I did okay.
upcoming stuff: pt tomorrow and lead lab. Friday night is the AAS Candidate night where they're Going To make fun of us and make us do stupid things for our final initiatory in to the Society.
