Orders up!

I got my orders yesterday and, they are just how I thought they would be. I'm going to ASBC at Maxwell AFB for six weeks starting 8 January 2007. After that I'm going to Mildenhall RAF, England. I should be there by the end of February.

This last month or two of ROTC has been pretty much the same. Flight meetings, PT, lead lab, AS class. Nothing too special.

My flight got warrior flight and we got passes to a rock climbing gym and we went last Tuesday. It was fun.

Parade practice has started and the parade is on the 14th of this month and then commissioning is on the 21st.

I'm almost done!

57 Days Until Commissioning

I can't believe that Commissioning is as close as it is.

I just got back from going to ARCON in Fort Collins, Colorado. It was fun. We had meetings that weren't that boring and they seemed kinda short. It was better than NATCON as far as meeting tolerability went.

The normal ROTC stuff is going well. As a flight commander I do the flight meetings and stuff like that. PT is the same as usual and I think I'm on track to scoring as well as I would like on the PFT.

I have a MEPS physical this Thursday and I hope that goes off without a hitch. As soon as that gets done they can start processing my orders! And I really hope I'm off to somewhere the first week of January.

Last First Week

Okay. So my last first week of ROTC is done. I'm really excited about that. PT is the same and just about everything else is the same.

I am a flight commander this semester, of Hotel flight. That should be fun. And tonight is the opening social. That should be fun as well.

I've also been working on getting another physical done for commissioning. I have to get a meps physical? I don't know if that's the right acronynm.

6 Months To Go!

If a year is 365 days then I'll be danged if I got any more than a half year until I commission.

I'm going to school this summer term and it's pretty fun not having any ROTC things to worry about or having to go back and forth between BYU and UVSC. I have some real easy classes and I'll probably get A's in all of them.

I'm more excited than anything to get commissioned and get a job. I hate not having much of an income and I'm getting pretty, correction: very bored with school.

If everything goes as planned I'll have 1 sociology class in the fall along with my normal ROTC classes. And if everything goes way better than planned I'll get graduated early and commissioned sometime in October. There's little chance of that happening, but if I can make it happen, I will.

Logistics!

So, I got my AFSC - Logistics readiness. It was my 3rd choice and I'm pretty happy that I got it. It can cover many different things and can take a person almost anywhere.

This week I also put in my location preferences. I wont know for a few months where it is that I'll go, but chances are I'll first go to Mississippi to Keesler AFB for some schooling then I'll go to one of the choices I picked. For my six choices I put 1. RAF Lakenheath, Brandon, Suffolk, England, United Kingdom 2. RAF Mildenhall, Mildenhall, England, United Kingdom, 3. Ramstein Air Base, Germany, 4. Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, 5. Yokota Air Base, Tokyo, Japan, 6. Misawa Air Base, Misawa, Aomori, Japan. I'm not sure I put them all in the correct order, but I do know that the countries are in the right order. Now I can't wait to see where I'll go.
